Harrah's Entertainment company was founded in 1937 by William Harrah. The current headquarters is a hotel and casino located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Harrah's owns or operates over 50 casinos throughout the world.
The vast majority of them are found here in North America, but there are also two resorts in South Africa and one each on the islands of Aruba and Antigua. In addition to casino ownership, Harrah's provides services such as entertainment tickets sales, non-gaming revenue opportunities, food and beverage outlets, retail operations, hotel management, marketing through their Total Rewards program, event planning services for conventions and meetings at their convention centers around the country (including World Famous Margaritaville in New Orleans), a television production studio, print and online publications, a professional sports league (Harrah's Championship Series), and the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort in North Carolina.
Harrah's employs approximately 71,000 people worldwide. They also own the World Series of Poker brand.
