Idacorp, Inc. is an international financial services company headquartered in Spokane, Washington. The Company's diverse product mix includes a variety of local government investments and other fixed income securities as well as domestic and international equity investments. Idacorp was founded in 1906 by J.P. Morgan Jr. as the International-Great Northern Railroad Company, a railroad construction holding company organized to build part of what would later be known as the Texas Mexican Railway (TM).
In 1967 ,the company changed its name from International-Great Northern Railroad Company to Idacorp after it acquired Intermountain Power Agency from Eli Lily and Company.
In 1990s, the company has been restructured into three independent business segments: IDACORP Financial Services Group, IDACORP Investment Management Group, and the IDACORP Railroad Group.
Currently, Idacorp operates 1 business segment which is responsible for issuing its own commercial paper to fund its lending activity.
