International Paper Company is one of the leading paper manufacturers in the world. Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, it was founded by James River Corporation to manage their vast forest areas. Since then it has grown into an international corporation producing products used for communication, food service and packaging materials.
International Paper's operations are divided into five segments: "Pulp & Paper", "Partnership Papers", "Specialty Papers", "Recycled Fiber" and "Corporate". Within these divisions are 14 manufacturing plants internationally with 42 Packaging Divisions located throughout North America, Europe and Asia Pacific regions. The company also operates 459 distribution facilities globally including 322 in North America.
