The Teleflex company was founded in 1933 by Karl Paul Link, the official name of the company was "Link Aviation Instruments". This is where it all began; with just 6 employees, manufacturing airplane instruments. Link pioneered the design and production of fiberglass flight control systems for light aircraft. By 1969, Link created their first computer-controlled drive system for boat steering under the guidance of Arthur Winkleblack.
